Fly Fishing along the River Finn

Whether you are a novice or a seasoned angler, you'll have the time of your life reeling in Salmon or Trout from one of the most regions most famous tributaries, the River Finn. Gallagher's Equestrian Centre can help you obtain fishing permits and if you don’t have your own rod & tackle we can provide you with ample choice, to buy or rent locally. The River Finn is a changeable waterway that can run gracefully silent or rage. You can always find a quiet spot to while away the hours whether fly or caster fishing. The River Finn attracts anglers from all over the world and with very good reason. The season runs from March to September with March to May being the best months for Salmon, and Trout being reliable throughout the season.

As well as the River Finn there are several Loughs (lakes) close by with varying landscapes from the gentile to the dramatic, each stocked with different varieties including the brown trout species, Ferox, Gillaroo and Sonaghen. Slightly further afield, you might be lucky enough to find the very rare Artic Char.
