Shooting is a popular sport around the world and although in most countries it is the sport of the elite, in Ireland it is much more accessible and attracts a wider audience. In Ireland shooting for recreation has been part of the establishment since the mid 1800's and remains popular even today.
Shooting is a skill that was adopted for the purpose of hunting and defense centuries ago, dating as far back as the 1300’s (in Europe). Today shooting is a mixed sport that tends to focus on “Clay Pigeons” as a moving target or simply target practice. It is fun, and a sport that requires concentration, a steady hand and a keen eye.
Our instructors will introduce you to your weapon. Teach you the rudiments of the sport and then begin your initiation into the art of hitting a speeding target the size of a flat cap. It’s great fun and a genuine confidence builder!
Lessons tend to be given on a group basis as it can be tiring to manage a heavy weapon for extended periods of time, it is also beneficial to observe others as they learn. Private lessons can be arranged if required.
